Farming Guide
Resource Farming Locations
Resource gathering is the backbone of Palworld progression. Every piece of equipment, structure, and tech upgrade demands materials, and knowing where to find them in bulk saves you hours of wandering.
This guide rounds up the best farming locations for the key mid and late-game resources, along with tips for gathering them efficiently.
Ore And Stone
Ore is the first bottleneck most players hit. Early on, the starting plateau and nearby areas have scattered ore deposits, but the real farming comes from dense ore nodes:
- Ore Mountain (191, -36): The classic early-game ore hotspot with 8+ ore nodes clustered together.
- Desolate Church area: Several ore deposits close to a fast travel point.
- Stone: Found almost everywhere, but the Desolate Church and Windswept Hills regions have dense clusters for bulk farming.
Assign high-Mining Pals to clear nodes fast, and use Transporting Pals to move the haul into storage.
Coal
Coal becomes essential for refined ingots and higher-tier gear. The best spots are concentrated in the desert and mountain regions:
- Twisted Desert (west): Large coal clusters along the desert edges.
- Mount Obsidian foothills: Coal nodes appear alongside ore in the volcano region.
- Deep Sand Dunes: Scattered deposits, good for a quick loop.
Coal and ore often spawn together, so a single trip can stock both.
Quartz
Quartz is a late-game material used in advanced electronics and high-tier equipment:
- Asteroid area (southeast): The most reliable quartz farming zone, with dense crystal nodes.
- Frostbound region: Quartz spawns in the icy north alongside the colder biome resources.
Bring cold protection — quartz nodes tend to sit in freezing regions.
Sulfur
Sulfur is required for gunpowder and ammunition, making it essential once you start using firearms:
- Mount Obsidian: Sulfur deposits are common around the volcano, especially on the lower slopes.
- Sealed Realm of the Thunder Dragon: The surrounding volcanic area holds several sulfur nodes.
Volcanic regions deal heat damage, so pack heat-resistant gear or a Fire-type Pal that shrugs it off.
Crude Oil
Crude Oil is the ultimate endgame resource, used for the highest-tier equipment and late-game production:
- Oil rigs and shorelines: Several islands host Crude Oil nodes, including Sunlit Isle and Oasis Isle.
- Endgame regions: The largest clusters are found in the highest-level zones.
Oil requires extractor technology and a power source, so it's locked behind significant progression. Plan to place a dedicated oil base near a cluster.
Pal Spheres And Paldium Fragments
Paldium Fragments drop from the blue crystal nodes found near water across the starting areas. For Pal Spheres themselves:
- Paldium nodes: Follow riverbanks and shorelines early game for steady fragment income.
- Chests and defeated Pals: Higher-tier spheres come from alpha Pal drops, dungeons, and raid bosses.
Farming Efficiency Tips
- Unlock and activate every fast travel statue — they turn long resource runs into quick hops.
- Ride a ground or flying mount to cover more ground between nodes.
- Take high-Mining Pals with Work Speed passives to clear nodes in seconds.
- Set up a dedicated second base near a big resource cluster so you can leave Pals farming on a loop.
- Use the Interactive Map to plan routes and mark exact node locations.
Final Thoughts
Efficient farming is all about density — find the spots with the most nodes, plan a loop, and bring the right Pals. Once you know where the resources live, stocking up becomes a quick trip rather than a multi-hour hunt.
