How Passive Skills Work

Every Pal can hold up to four passive skills. Passives are rolled randomly when you catch or hatch a Pal, and their ranks range from negative traits (which you'll want to avoid) all the way up to rare legendary-class passives that dramatically boost stats.

Passives are inherited through breeding, which makes breeding the primary way to stack multiple strong passives onto a single Pal.

S-Tier Passives — Always Chase These

These passives are universally strong and worth building entire breeding lines around:

Legend — Huge boost to all stats. The single best combat passive in the game, found on legendary Pals.
Ferocious — Big attack boost. A staple on every damage-focused combat Pal.
Musclehead — Very large attack boost at the cost of work speed. Perfect on dedicated fighters, poor on base workers.
Artisan — Large work speed boost. The cornerstone of an efficient base workforce.
Swift — Big movement speed boost for ground and flying mounts.
Runner — Strong movement speed boost. Pairs perfectly with Swift for mounts.
