How to Get Sulfur
Towards the Palworld endgame, you're going to need a fair amount of Sulfur to craft various kinds of ammunition for your firearms. While it's not quite worth building an entire mining camp around, it's still important to know where to find it.
Sulfur Locations
Sulfur is a naturally occurring yellow rock deposit that, like coal, can often be found in the hotter areas of the map. The official description points out that it "can be found in volcanoes and such."
Mount Obsidian — the volcano to the southwest — is easily the best place to mine for it, but the Pals in that area are significantly higher-level than your alternative option.
The easiest and safest area to look for Sulfur is in the desert northeast of the Investigator's Fork fast travel point, just west of the map's center. However, the deposits there are sporadic and hard to come by.
The Best Sulfur Mining Spot
If you want a reliable way to find lots of Sulfur, head deep into volcanic territory toward the Eternal Pyre Tower, the boss tower on the eastern side of the volcano's crater. There's a fast travel point not far from the tower, and lining the edge of the crater overlooking the lava pool should be a string of Sulfur deposits.
Even from the starting area, as long as you make your way directly west, you can reach the Sealed Realm of the Swordmaster checkpoint, then the Ascetic Falls or Small Cove. From there, fly west across the gap to the southwesternmost island and head toward the Foot of the Volcano checkpoint.
Bring a good flying mount and be ready for some slow platforming to ascend and descend the crater. Before long you'll have a fast travel point in the endgame where you can score lots of Sulfur.
How to Farm Sulfur at Your Base
As part of the Sakurajima update, you can now farm Sulfur from your base. Like the Ore Mining Site, you unlock the Sulfur Mine from the Ancient Technology Tree for 5 Ancient Technology Points at Level 52.
A Sulfur Mine costs:
- 70 x Stone
- 100 x Sulfur
- 30 x Paldium Fragment

Final Thoughts
Volcanic regions deal heat damage, so pack heat-resistant gear or a Fire-type Pal that shrugs it off. Once you can reach the Eternal Pyre crater reliably, Sulfur stops being a bottleneck.
